FCPS Adjustments for Growth COLA and Benefits 2000 to 2014
FCPS Adjustments for Growth COLA and Benefits 2000 to 2014
Prepared for FCTA by
Office of Budget Services / Fairfax County Public Schools
[2013-10-23:] I have attached a spreadsheet that shows the history of increases in growth, COLA and step (including percentages), and employee benefit cost increases (all benefits, not just pension and health insurance) for each of the years in your analysis so that you can compare your salary increase calculation to this document. Also, the per employee pension and medical insurance costs on the spreadsheet are overstated because bus drivers, bus attendants and parent liaisons participate in these benefit programs, but they are contracted hourly employees and are not reflected in the position count.
[2013-10-24:] The attached chart has been updated to include FY2000-FY2002. There are approximately 1,260 bus driver full-time equivalents and 430 bus attendant full-time equivalents. I do not have the information on parent liaisons, but that is a much smaller number. I also do not have the medical and pension costs for the hourly contracted employees. I will have to request that from HR and I'm not sure how long that will take, but I wanted to get you the information I do have.
